So it looks like it's back to the BBRS drawing board for me.
5-year-old DAGASTAN(IRE) sold last week for $135k. The BBRS stalwart had just won a $10k claimer, and I put him in the auction with a reserve to see what happened. Farewell, friend! He burst in with three straight wins, then placed in a number of BBRS stakes. To my mind, he could have won the turf sprint Bargie last year had he won the season-capping Silent Witness. He just never seemed to want to go to that 100 level for me. Maybe the hamster stable from the Big Cheese Racing group will be able to do it.
I put WHYDAH(ENG) 188918 up for sale a few months back, planning on a stable transfer to my main BBRS stable, yielding. I figured I was willing to spend about $250k on that, and if someone wanted her more, they could have her. Well, glenys123 of the Bullish Luck Lodge picked her up for that price. She's showed some promise on turf - low 90s - and I was considering fall BBRS stakes in Eurasia for her. Oh well!
If the new owners have good luck and are paying attention, maybe you'll see the above in BBRS events to come. As for me, I have some newer bargain runners, but none are looking stakes level at the moment.
