knightmare.freehostia.com/RaceSchedule.htmNew schedule is on the web site. The Dirt Mile division will consist of the Big City Mile (real life Met Mile) and the Gumball Mile (real life Cigar Mile) and the Sir Bear Mile in the Bargain Bowl. Sir Bear epitomized bargain racing in real life. Out of Sir Leon by a Bet Big mare his pedigree would never scream blue blood. It took him 29 starts before getting his first stakes win. The Cigar Mile was his first G1 win he also won the Metropolitan Handicap (Met Mile) during his career. He also won at 10f a very versatile grizzled runner. 71 career starts 19 wins gotta love him. Here are a couple of articles on him sports.espn.go.com/sports/horse/columns/story?columnist=finley_bill&id=1359491www.thoroughbredtimes.com/racing-news/2001/March/10/The-Old-Man-can-still-run.aspxYou will notice 2 experimental divisions. Long Distance dirt has the Stayer (12f), and the Hinterland (14f). The three year old sprint consists of the Gold Coyote (6f) and the Royal Pawn (7f). These will be allowance races rather than stakes as we test the waters of these type races. Two year olds now have three stakes races for both turf and dirt. New this year is the Amity and Sandford Park in September, then the Ginger Ale and Winchester (last year El Joven) and the Bargain Bowl races will be 8f instead of 7f.
