In the coming week to two weeks I will be putting together a year in review article for the BBRS. If any of you would like to contribute that would be great I will probably be hitting some of you up for quotes. As 2009 was the year of the Filly in real life it sort of seemed that way in the BBRS as well. While we did not have a filly take down the boys in our dirt or turf classics, Slave to Tradition, Rewa Dreamin, and King of Wariuz where clear stand outs this year in their divisions. Bargie awards will be officially announced in late January or February of 2010. I will set that date once I hammer out the schedule for next year. Bargies are awarded base off the division standings so you can pretty much tell who won I will do write ups and such at that time. I posted final division standings in each thread for the Bargain Bowl races. Also any suggestions for future races, division changes, distance changes etc.. please post in the BBRS 2010 thread. Thanks for making this a really fun series to run

As I am updating my spread sheets I will post some other stuff here.
Prior to this year the most BBRS races won in a year was 2. In 2007 and 2008 there where 5 runners each year that won 2 races each. This year that record was soundly beaten we had two runners that won 4 races each.
King of Wariuz and Slave to Tradition.
There where 3 others with two wins apiece. Ballista, Shoeless Greek, Rewa Dreamin.
In 2008 Shoaib Akhtar had a win, three places and a show for 5 on the board finishes.
In 2009 Slave to Tradition had two shows in addition to her 4 wins giving her a record 6 on the board finishes.

I am slowly putting together sire info for BBRS runners. I have looked at sires that have runners with at least 2 career BBRS wins. That is 30 runners, not one sire is repeated. 30 different sires.
Sons of Storm Cat, Mr. Prospector, and Danzig have each produced two mulitiple BBRS winners.
As expected the Northern Dancer and Mr. Prospector Lines have dominated however it does not seem like they have dominated as much as they might with regular runners. 10 of the 30 sires that have produced BBRS winners with at least two career wins are from a non Northern Dancer or Mr. Prospector sire lines.

Thats one thing I really like about the series is the variety of sires that do well.
Looks like King of Wariuz and Slave to Tradition have a strong case for being CO Bargies of the Yr. It's a shame Rachel and Zenyatta can not share the award..
