Here is a bargain sire that actually has a history of a few stakes winners in the sim. Northern Afleet's most popular real life runner is Afleet Alex. Another of his sons won the Dubai Golden Shaheen, Big City Man. He also has a two year old grade three winner this year. So this is a guy that produces some solid runners. His pedigree is Afleet (Mr. Prospector) x Nureyev (Northern Dancer) x Tentam. Dam sires that have produced stakes winners or placers in this racing year are Valid Appeal, Aptitude, Danzig, Secret Slew, Honor Grades, Blue Ensign, Devils Bag, Spend a Buck, Air Forbes Won, and Demons Begone. Not really any breeding back to the Mr. P line, and only one back to the Northern Dancer line. His best runners are dirt runners but a couple of his stakes placers are running on the turf. Despite no graded winners last year he still ranked 33rd on the general sires list. He seems plenty capable of stakes winners here, his end of week price of around 60 means you would have to use cheaper dam sires with him. What lines do think would fit with him? Have you used him before? if so what was your experience? Anyone want to breed him post those breedings as well. *** Adding Links to Breedings*** Trecho En Stadion ArtificialSlew North

Never tried him.
I would probably have to link some more nasrullah/mahmoud type stuff to him. I like Capote, Risen Star or Spectacular Bid through Bold Ruler because Nashua and Nantallah are in Northern Afleet. The Bid has been tried with him once with Tom Fool on the end... claimer. Maybe something else as DDS would work better.
Of course, some Sadlers Wells might cross good with that Nureyev, too.

Yea I was thinking the Seattle Slew, Secretariat, Buckpasser lines would all seem to mix well. Of course I like Ribot line and anything from the Turn- To line as well.

I decided to go this way. N. Afleet with Southern Halo in the DS position has already produced a GP, SW mare. Hope this one is half as good as that...

Stats from G1Goldmine:
For some reason, Big City Man isn't in their database. I've just sent them a message pointing that out.
Other than that, Northern Afleet has 3 graded winners (Afleet Alex, Saint Afleet, G P Fleet). Two are outcrossed for 5 generations while the other is inbred only 5m x 5m to Native Dancer. Despite Northern Afleet having Northern Dancer and Mr Prospector in his pedigree, his real life success seems to come from mares without either of them in their pedigrees. Big City Man is inbred 5f x 4f Nashua and 5m x 4m Intentionally. Again, no Northern Dancer or Mr Prospector.
Afleet Alex => Northern Afleet x Hawkster x Hawaii Big City Man => Northern Afleet x Valid Appeal x Slew O Gold Saint Afleet => Northern Afleet x Saint Ballado x Fluorescent Light G P Fleet => Northern Afleet x Spectacular Bid x Ack Ack
All 4 of his graded winners are males. There doesn't seem to be any particular bias for age or distance though, and one is a turf graded winner.

ARTIFICIAL - #187033 (not a BB and a 3 yr. old)
Broke maiden on second try out in a 5.5F dirt sprint. I noticed all three of the runners bred in this thread, first time out, were on or near the lead at C2 but were unable to hang on while finishing out of the money. I'm Hoping TRECHO EN STADION for Axe and SLEW NORTH for Knight stretch out their speed next race for the win!

Nice win and a solid enough speed figure to think he will continue to move forward. My bargain bred had a poor debut but I am thinking of moving him over to the turf for start two.
I added links to each runner at the top of this thread for easy viewing.

I have only one Northern Afleet, and it's not a bargain bred:
FLED THE SCENE(KY) ID # 176203 NORTHERN AFLEET x HONOR GRADES x MARFA
Bred to a retired mare, D AVERAGE.
I was okay with 4x4 Northern Dancer, and saw that this sire produced a few stakes runners.
So far she won her debut but has yet to exceed that speed since. I would use Northern Afleet again though.

It sure is hard to breed true bargain breds with this sale going on!

Had a couple horses claimed, so I started looking through my retired mares for those stables. Yuck! I came across a couple of G rated mares by sons of Sadlers Wells and figured what the heck, find something cheap with Nureyev blood and take a couple shots. This guys name came up in a search and looked good.
FLEET FOOT WILLY/FLEET FOOT JENNA NORTHERN AFLEET x WALTER WILLY x BOLD COMMANDER x NORTHERN DANCER
SCRAMBLIN MAN/SCRAMBLE ON NORTHERN AFLEET x NOT IMPOSSIBLE x BOLD IVOR x RIVA RIDGE
100 points each - probably a waste, but fun trying!
