I updated the rules page. I have not added or changed any rules. I did try to clarify the rules I use. When you get a chance if you guys could read over the rules and provide me with some feedback. Does it make sense, do I need to clarify, am I too wordy, is there something else I should touch on? Thanks in advance knightmare.freehostia.com/rules.htm

Clarification - does the runner need to cost LESS than 100 or cost 100 or less (i.e. can a runner cost 100 on the dot - which I think still qualifies for the 50% discount - and still be eligible)?

Technically a 100 point breeding does not qualify for the discount

Cost Breakdown :
Sire Cost : 60 DamSire Cost : 37 Dam's DamSire Cost / 2 : 3
Total cost : 100 points
However something like this I would allow, at some point of some week there would likely have been a moment where the breeding would have been less than 100 points. I am not going to be a stickler per say between 100 and 99.
In many cases of older horses or runners claimed and nominated I cannot pin point the exact cost. I have a really good method that has proven to be really good in approximating costs, with the exception of freshman sires.
Really it is a judgment call by me, I try to be as fair as possible offering my explanation as to why I would deny entry. There is not really any limit, I look at each nomination based on its merits. When we are talking a breeding cost of 100-105 there is a very high percentage chance this was or could have been bargain bred. When we are talking 110-115 points it could but I will err on the side of caution and deny entry unless proof of breeding is provided. That is not exact but hopefully gives you an idea of the process when there is no breeding page submitted.
As for getting credit by donating the horse if its 100-105 and the discount puts you below I will usually allow entry, again there is a very good chance this breeding is available for less than 100 at some point, however if a player routinely submits these type breedings I will address that issue with the player and potentially deny all entry for that player. The higher over 105 the more likely I will say no.
Again I am just trying to keep the playing field even. We have a good bunch of people that keep the breedings traditional and I have not had to address any player for trying to take advantage.
On some occasions I will ask other players opinions on a breeding before making a final decision.

Thats funny. I wonder what you would say with this mare: derbyfever.com/hr/runtime/prettyhorse.asp?hossnum=134237I'm almost positive that when I bred her, the only reason she was under 100 was the trade in bonus, so I never bothered trying to nominate her. However, i've checked a few times at the end of the week and seen the prices come in under 100 at least once. That's now though. Do you have older info from when the horses were bred? I always wondered how you determined an older, unverified horse. Heck, i would have been running her if she was approved!

Great lets use her as an example.
I do not have any ticker prices from January 07 but I do have one from February 07.
Martaline - 18 Master Willie - 37 Relko - 57 (keep in mind it is 1/2 the price listed for DDS)
18+37+28 = 83 ........easily a bargain bred.
If you have a runner that is even close let me know i will be happy to look at the breeding. In the case of this runner the prices for these sires stay pretty consistent from 07 to 08 and to 09.
