In what could be an interesting extension of bargain racing I was thinking it would be neat to have a few races for bargain (under 75 pt sires or whatever threshold) based off of those from certified bargain mares or hemares. Would kind of be a legacy series open to children of past bargain runners.

You know I have kicked around the idea of having a race or two for runners bred from bargain runners that have participated in the series. Either he mares or mares. I have a couple of mares I will breed with every year but have only a limited number of offspring thus far.

yes it sounds great as you sometimes dont breed those mares because of their breeding

Would be neat to pursue even if it was sometime next year but to lay the ground work with what type of sire is permitted (perhaps any sire under 100 credits/bps or something or the whole breed has to be under 100 (unless it was a hemare thats why basing it on the sire seems desirable)

Starisky was a pretty salty turf sprinter for me in the early years of the series. She was a great two year old winning three listed stakes and would run second in a grade I as a three year old. I have chosen pretty good sires in her first two offsrping, Mr. Greely and Zabeel. The Mr. Greely runner has been disappointing but the Zabeel runner shows some real promise. Star of ZabI am a firm believer that you will not have much success breeding bargain mares back to bargain sires and that middle tier sires that cost some where between 80-160 points at the weeks end probably would offer the best chances of success. With this one I have tried sires above the middle tier mainly because she was a $600k earner and I wanted to see what would happen.
