I will be working on the whole 2017 schedule soon but wanted to get the Winter schedule going pretty quickly. We will have 3 winter dates prior to the official kick off of the 2017 season (Bargie Day March 4, 2017).
December 31 Bargain Exchange - 10 claiming races, have not decided on distances, ages etc. there will be a couple of un raced maiden claimers. I think I will restrict these to 30 pointers.
January 7th - (10 races) - Allowance and Maiden three year old races for sure, I am considering a couple of starter allowances.
February 4th - (10 races) - Allowance and Maiden three year old races for sure, I am considering a couple of starter allowances.
I will try and work this schedule out this weekend but welcome suggestions or requests.

Checked my stables For the Dec. 31 Bargain Exchange Claiming Races.
I have: 2 offspring bred Maidens (have raced before) 6 3 yr. old BB Maidens (have raced before) 5 4&^ BB Runners that are not maidens that I'd let go for a 10k claim tag. (or less!) Surface/Distance wouldn't really matter.
I have 12 3yo.runners (allw & mdns) pegged for the 1/7 races, and another 7 (probably more) 3yolds aiming to go in the 2/4 races. (allw&mdn)
Just for your info., hope this helps. Thanks for all your work on the series.

My 6 bargain stables have 17 empty stables, so I can breed a bunch for the unraced 30 pointers.
I have 10 maidens (six 2y/o, four 3y/o).
There probably aren't too many others that I'd run in low claimers, but I'm not likely to be getting rid of any since I have lots of space.

LG what distance / surface do you want on that 3yr filly race? Do we want more than one race?
Tentatively I was looking at the following. Thinking about the unraced races being 30 point breedings. With breeding discount in full force much easier for me to validate. Regular maidens starting the week after. All other races open to any BBRS qualifying runners.
2yr un raced MCL $10k 6.5f dirt 2yr un raced MCL $10k 6.5f turf 3yr un raced MCL $10k 7f dirt 3yr un raced MCL $10k 7f turf
2yr MCl $10k 8f dirt 2yr MCL $10k 8f turf 3yr+ $10k 8.5f dirt 3yr+ $10k 8.5f turf 3yr+ MCL? $10k F 8f dirt 3yr+ MCL? $10k F 8f Turf
2yr Off MCL $10k 7f dirt 2yr Off MCL $10k 7f dirt

Winter schedule / nomination threads are complete. I am now moving onto the 2017 schedule. For sure Bargain Day will be March 4, 2017, Death Valley Races April 1, 2017.
I will likely keep the offspring races the same, will look to add some more 2yr maiden races early. I might explore adding stakes races or may have some allowances for older mixed in some weeks not sure yet.
I will be evaluating two year old stakes. I am not sure why the two year old sprint stakes in September draw such small fields. I was contemplating moving those races to 7f, carding one dirt and one turf sprint stakes in August and permanently carding 2yr old sprint stakes on bargain bowl day. I would crown a two year old sprint Dirt and Turf sprint champion based on August, September and Bargain Bowl races (In August and Bargain Bowl no separation of sexes) then name a two year old division champs as we do now based on the September, October and Bargain Bowl races. Yes the September races at 7f would count in both the sprint and route divisions. Just toying with ideas so I may not make any changes to two year old stakes but as always I welcome feedback.

I've found that I have very few bargain 2 year old winners by the time those races come around. Splitting them between allowance and stakes races further spreads them. Maybe we need more maiden races for 2 year olds before the stakes races come around.
I do think I left my 2 year old breeding a bit late last year. Planning to get going early this time around.

The 2017 schedule is in the final stages. For the first year in a while I will not be adding any stakes races to the schedule however I will be adding more allowances and maidens(roughly 25 more. There will be a few allowances for older in the Death Valley Week for sure on the turf 9f, and 11f and on the dirt 6f. I will have a filly mare only allowance in the fall in a turf sprint.
Normally there has been a race week between the Summer Festival and the first set of Two Year old stakes. It had a couple of stakes races. I will be moving those stakes and allowances so there will be a short break between the Summer Festival and the Two Year Old Stakes.
Looking at last years schedule we had 24 maidens for 2 year olds prior to the September Stakes for two year olds. This year we will have 40 maiden races for two year olds in the same span of time. Every race week we will have 4 MSW races for two year olds.(2 fillies, 2 colts, turf and dirt) In June and July we will have 8 MSW races on those cards. So 4 at a shorter distance (5f) and 4 and a longer distance (6.5f in June, 7F in July). This should help get more two year olds into the first set of two year old stakes races.
For Offspring races I am adding three year old only events for the March, April and May races. After that the three year olds have to face older in Offspring races.
I will be finalizing the schedule over the next day or two, hope to have it up by Saturday at the latest.
After that I will be making a couple of more videos. I plan on having a few breeding videos, Breeding 101, The Tools (the ones I use), and how to breed a Bargain. I will then go to work on the Bargie Day Video and a Video that acts as an introduction to the residency / series.
