Hi Everyone, after some time away from the game I am starting to get the 2019 schedule going. Hopefully I get that posted in a week or so. Bargie Day will be March 2nd, Death Valley Week will be April 2, the first three year old week, Ozarks, April 9. As usual I will take a look at the races we offer and possibly change weeks, add races, or potentially eliminate some races.
I would like feedback on the following...
Offspring races - do we enjoy these races, sort of felt like we struggled a bit to fill some of the races. I am not going to eliminate them but thoughts on these races are welcome
We added a lot of two year old maiden races in 2018. Do you think this was too many maidens, enough maidens?
Any other comments on anything about the series are welcome.

Hi Morgan, looking forward to another year of bargain racing! Offspring races are not a big thing to me although very popular with some others so I keep replying to others. Maiden races - We had plenty of these last seasons and I get the thought behind it - 2yo stakes have always had a lack of runners and this is a way to change it. On the other hand, many maiden races have very small fields - just 4 or 5 runners. Sometimes I bred 2yos just because I wanted to fill the race as I was afraid the CPU horses would compete with one or two runners from bargain trainers. It made me tons of bargain material, which is nice because it consequently brings good results in the future. But the feelings are mixed anyway. I think I would slightly lower the amount of maiden races to increase the number of entrants to the race. Also I probably wouldn't run any 2yo allowances together with 2yo stakes which could bring the larger fields to them. I think that bbrs needs a bit more propagation so it wouldn't be dependent on three or four trainers. May be it doesn't need much. BBRS schedule could be posted to the Sim main forum. Two or three weeks before the bbrs event there could be a post on main forum - "This bargain event is coming. More information on our message board.." etc. Also this forum needs a bit more "buzzing". And all of us are responsible for it. It would be nice to discuss results after the events, our hopeful runners for bargain events etc. So that newcomers could see there is some life here. Unfortunately, I couldn't write the BTB article about my bbrs history page before last year's bargain bowl. So I am going to do it before the new season start and this could raise some attention. BTB articles could generally help it. But this responsibility shouldn't lay only on you, Morgan. Personally, I would probably breed less bargain horses this season (can't promise it though ). Last season, I won 28 bbrs stakes - 38% of all our stakes events. In the Fizzy Miss stakes - there were 5 runners, all of them mine. These things brought some joy but sadness due to lack of competition as well. I don't want to be in dominating position, which could be discouraging for other players. I won't skip the races, but I am probably going to breed less. I'll try to bring some ideas to wake up some attractiveness. Thanks Morgan for keeping the most inventive sim residency alive! Happy 2019!

I've been winding down my sim participation in the last few months and don't expect to breed any new runners this season at all. Lots of change going on in my life right now, and I've lost interest in the sim in general as well.
Anyway, I will keep entering my remaining competitive runners but will continue to offload others as I go until I'm done. I could end up without decent internet for some time too, but hard to predict when.

Hi! I've never participated before so I don't have any input really but I stumbled across this in residencies and am looking forward to breeding some bargain-breds and trying it out.

I have assembled a decent few BBRS broodmares now, so I would like to see offspring races continue to some extent. Agree with planoaxius that a small decrees in 2yo maidens would probably work. But the 2018 level didn't bother me. Looking forward to 2019!

Man, what was that, autocorrect? Make that "small decrease", not "small decrees"!
