There has been a change to the race card. Stakes races have been added one on the dirt and one on the turf. So there are 6 races 4113, here are the races. The Ginger Ale - 8f dirt - open The BBRS El Joven - 8f turf - open Alw - 7f dirt - colts Alw - 7f turf - colts Alw - 7f dirt - fillies Alw - 7f turf - fillies Deadline for entries is 4106, so you have a couple of weeks. Feel free to nominate early if you like. Maidens can enter just keep in mind winners would get preference at the entry box. The Stakes are restricted to 14 horse fields and the allowance races will allow up to 20 so I do not think we will have any problems with any runners being denied entry because of full fields. If you breed any new horses for the races send me the screen shots in email.

I believe I processed through all the early entries. I responded by email if you emailed me. Still a week to go to nominate. I also have yours above Mark.
Should be an interesting weekend for the youngsters.
At this point the fields are shaping up well. The colt Alw turf has only 6 early noms, and the stakes currently have 5 each. That is without any of my runners, plus we have a week left for nominations. All the rest have 10 or more nominations.
It struck me this morning that at some point I need to try and analyze the effect the BBRS has had on bargain sires, sire prices, numbers of bargains bred each year, etc.

I was actually thinking of putting together some kind of division ranking for the bargains so it would be easy to see who the top contenders for the Bargain Bowl races are.

QORCHAH ROSH(CA) ID # 188080
I'll nominate her to The Ginger Ale if she ranks good enough (good idea on the division rankings mtk!), but if not the dirt filly allowance would be great.

I am really looking forward to these 2 yr old races I am hoping Key Party can go 2-2 and set up an undefeated try in the BB Juvy Turf but the field looks like it is going to be very tough.
Good luck to everyone

Cool glad you are covering them Hawkz. Here are a few comments for my runners:
Key Party (turf stakes)- Decided to breed this Purim for the bargain series because he was a good real life runner earning almost one million with wins at 3-5. Was best at 8-8.5f and biggest win was probably the Shadwell Turf Mile at Keenland. Breeding Nick logic: Purim's sire Dynaformer had been good with Sadler's so used a son of sadlers for DS (Johann Quatz, who ran a strong 2nd in the BC Turf Mile). Used a cheap son of Riverman to round out the breed. Cost: 20 bps (during sale)
Textbook Case (Dirt stakes) - May be up against it a bit still being a maiden but with those speed figures had to try. Another concern is hes only raced on off track so a total unknown on the fast track. Used Freud cause he has been a nice real life NY sire and thought maybe he could throw a dual Bargain/State bred type horse. Cost: 22bps during sale

QORCHAH ROSH - Hebrew for "bald head". BEST MINISTER x COJAK x MISTY FLIGHT A spattering of Mahmoudian blood. Speed figure wise, i'm looking rough. Lot's of ifs here - if she gets the distance - if she can improve her speed figure - if she can run with the boys - oh, and if the other horses can slow down a little for her!

Thanks mate. The Giner Ale is a competitive race! On the plus side for my boy, Lecture Robin, is that he's the only one that has gone the mile so far. Hopefully that helps him.

I love your write ups! Especially all of the links you provide for us that are too lazy too look stuff up manually. Thanks for picking my filly 2nd in the Ginger Ale, too! I was thinking 4th or 5th at best. I hope you're right!
