Thought it might be cool to have a thread to track notable bargain retirements. Just retired 2011 Tale of Two Places Bargain Bowl Sprint Winner Ultimate Betrayal. Was time to let the 7 yr old warrior go and let him prepare for the next phase of his career. Was never really the same after that devastating by a head 2nd place in the 2012 Bargain Bowl but was a pretty good one for me. Bargain race accomplishments: Winner - 2011 Tale of Two Places Bargain Bowl Sprint 2nd (by a hd) - 2012 Tale of Two Places Bargain Bowl Sprint Winner - 2012 The Bargain Dash Winner - 2011 Royal Pawn Sprint remotepanel.com/onehorse_inline.asp?horse=11100029243

Always a nice accomplishment to turn a claimer into a bargain stakes winner... Ran a big # in a big race too.

Retired a few more former series sw'ers after this weeks stakes:
Glorious Detail - 2nd in the Ozark Diamond & Oaks at 3. Later did her best as a sprinter winning the 2013 edition of the Chance for Delta and a 2nd in the Death Valley Starlet.
Vision of Charlie - Danced in a lot of bargain dances winning the Sir Bear Mile in 2012

I just retired Tomato Gravy. She was one of the best bargain horses, I've ever had. At one time, I was secretly hoping she could chase or at least get close to Slave to Tradition record. Unfortunately, her form went out very quickly and permanently. I also did some wrong managing decisions, which could improve her score (not sending her to Ozark Stakes, choosing Bargain Derby instead of Oaks, confronting her with her stablemate Enque Panis in Summer Distaff two years ago). But I don't know how the things would go. Nevertheless, she holds 6 bargain wins, including two BB wins and other precious results. For the first foal, I will probably use some none-bargain sire and try luck. Winner - 2013 BB Cemetary Winter Distaff, 2012 BB Charlies Tiger Juvenile, 2014 Bargain Summer Distaff, 2014 Death Valley Distaff, 2013 Slave To Tradition, 2013 The Queens2nd - 2013 Bargain Derby, 2014 Big City Mile, 2013 Bargain Summer Distaff

Tomato Gravy was a real nice one plano. You have been having a ton of success in the series last few years, well done.

Decided to retire the old bargain warrior Slinging Tradition today. He wasn't a superstar but won three nice bargain stakes and for awhile back 2013 was running some real fast times. Wins: 2011 Class Ack Juvenile 2013 Everglades 2013 Kamikaze Mile He will enjoy his days grazing with his old bargain series pals feasting on bargain oaks of plenty. remotepanel.com/onehorse_inline.asp?horse=11200014003

Retired Turtle Snip (Jpn) today. She won the Sugar Spice and the Chance For Delta as a 3 year old in 2014 and picked up a pair of 2nds in 2015 and 2016. Decent enough sprinting mare and I'll give her a chance in the breeding shed for some bargain offspring. By the way, she was bred for 30 bp's.
